About the role

We're looking for a QA Engineer to support the development and release of high‑quality software across Fortiro’s platform. This role focuses on validating functionality, identifying defects early, improving test coverage, and ensuring our products perform reliably in real customer environments.

You will work closely with engineers and product teams to test backend systems, APIs, and frontend workflows. Your work plays a critical role in release confidence, platform stability, and customer experience by ensuring quality risks are identified early and clearly communicated.

What you'll be doing

• Design and execute manual test cases across backend, frontend, API, and data‑driven workflows.

• Validate system behaviour through functional testing, regression testing, and exploratory testing.

• Identify defects early, document them clearly with reproduction steps, and collaborate with developers on resolution.

• Test APIs, integrations, and data flows using tools such as Postman and structured datasets.

• Create and manage synthetic data to support testing across varied scenarios and edge cases.

• Validate builds within CI pipelines and support release readiness through smoke and sanity testing.

• Provide clear visibility of test coverage, quality status, and risk areas to support delivery decisions.

• Partner with product and engineering teams to continuously improve test coverage, processes, and documentation.

• Contribute to automation efforts over time as skills and experience grow.

What you’ll bring

• Experience writing and executing manual test cases across APIs, backend services, and user interfaces.

• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman and basic automation exposure using frameworks like Cypress or Selenium.

• Understanding of modern systems built with Java‑based backends, React frontends, and AWS environments.

• Strong attention to detail with a structured approach to defect identification, analysis, and reporting.

• Ability to work with structured datasets and create synthetic data for testing purposes.

• Clear communication skills and confidence collaborating with developers and product managers.

• A proactive mindset, curiosity about how systems work, and a strong sense of ownership over quality.
